General Manager - Christina Gilbert
Christina has been in restaurant management
for nearly two decades, starting out working with some smaller
restaurants and then moving on to be a manager for some National chains
where she spent 16 years as a manager over multiple locations.
“I got started in this business because I love food. I love to cook and bake it and be creative with it.” Christina shares, “There are four women in my life that have been a big influence on me. My mother, who was both an amazing woman and an amazing cook, and my three older sisters that each have the gift and talent of being amazing cooks as well. I learned so much from all of them. During my career in restaurant management I have gone through the school of hard knocks and boy did I learn a lot! I plan on bringing all of that experience to RUHE and I am confident that you are going to enjoy what we are building in Nappanee.”
Christina brings a lot to RUHE152, including years of operational experience, dedication, passion for success, willingness to work hard, commitment and excitement for this new venture and a commitment to customer service. Christina and her husband Erik, live in Plymouth, Indiana.
Head Brewery/Head Distiller - David Michael
We are Excited to Introduce you to our Head Brewer at RUHE152 - David Michael. David is originally from Fremont, Indiana and has been brewing professionally for many years. He started brewing in Angola, Indiana, then moved to Denver, Colorado to brew beer and craft whiskey. He then moved back to Indiana to become the head brewer in Mishawaka, Indiana. David has produced award winning beers and has been recognized for his creativity and even featured in a brewing publication. David and his wife Lindsay live in Nappanee and have twin girls together, along with 4 other children. David Michael is a new age renaissance man holding a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He has worked with at-risk teens as well as in an acute care mental health facility. We are glad that he decided to "Major" in the art of brewing memorable beers and crafting smooth whisky for RUHE152.
Exective Chef - Jack Godwin
Jack is a native son of this area who has
returned via Las Vegas, Seattle, NYC, Pennsylvania and more. Jack
started his career at a young age in his mothers bowling alley in nearby
Walkerton Indiana. Since then Jack has honed his culinary skills in his
own restaurant Villa Del Lago in North East Pennsylvania as well as
critically acclaimed kitchens such as Nick & Eddie in NYC and Serafina
in Seattle. As a room chef for Caesars entertainment, Las Vegas, Jack
was in charge of multiple high-end restaurants. Along the way Jack has
worked with many notable chefs including the likes of Mario Batali and
Most recently Jack and his wife Brianna decided to move home to be closer to his mother and took up residence at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth.
Jack is known for using local farmers and what they have to offer and has a unique take and many common ingredients.
“I always want to get the freshest ingredients possible,” shares Jack, “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be heading up the kitchen at Ruhe152, they are offering this chef a chance to do something special that comes along only once in a lifetime.” Aside from being an excellent executive chef, Jack is also an accomplished sushi chef and will be overseeing RUHE’s diverse sushi selections. Outside of the kitchen, Jack is an avid Fly-Fisherman and outdoorsman and can be found in his local woods mushroom hunting.
Sous Chef - Jessie Laughlin
Jessie is a Nappanee native who comes to RUHE152 with nearly 12 years of cooking experience. Jessie entered the United States Marine Corps out of high school where his love of cooking served him well during his 8 years as a food service specialist. Jessie is now a family man at home in Nappanee, with his wife Skylar and their son Elijah. He is thrilled to be home and be a part of the RUHE152 team.
Head Mixologist - Michael Bleile
Introducing RUHE152's Head Mixologist -
Michael Bleile! Michael grew up in Northern Indiana and joined the
United States Army in 2010, where he began utilizing much of his time
away from training to explore different cocktail bars and taverns around
the world. “I wanted to try all the classics and read up on all of the
history.” He quickly found a passion for craft cocktails and joined the
bartending community immediately after leaving the military. He molded
his drink style and craft from experience, working for some of the best
cocktail bars in the area. “The key to great cocktails is originality
and really understanding the relationship between sweet, sour, bitter
and boozy.” Michael’s plan for the bar at Ruhe152 is to leave the guests
feeling both at home and constantly engaged. He believes bartending and
mixology carry a certain creative and social appeal that should include
everyone who enjoys his cocktails. Continuously learning from the best
mixologists in Michiana, Michael is going to bring innovative cocktails
to Ruhe152 that are sure to leave guests intrigued and wanting more!
